For my final project I decided to show a vertical building that I had to create for my Design Course I. This building is a residence for teachers. Developing this project I had to take in consideration the context of the building, which a residential zone with a line of paired buildings and streets of 1twelve meters between each pair, and a public square in front. That is the reason why I decided to create a building conform by two volumes intercepting each other, the smallest one give a response to the public square and the biggest to the building in front.
Another fact that I had to consider was the client and his needs. In this case, the clients are the teachers that's why each apartment floor has three single flats, each of these flats has an integrated space with a kitchenette, a dinner room and a family room, then a full bathroom and a bedroom with access to a private balcony. The fourth apartment, which is in the corner of the building has two bedrooms, a full bathroom and a integrated space with a kitchen, a dinner room and a family room; this apartment has the most beautiful view of the entire building.
In the basement of the building, there is also three stores which could be a market store, a laundry store or a pharmacy. Then, in the mezzanine floor there is a space for a coffee or a restaurant with a nice terrace with direct view of the public space. Finally, at the top of the building there is a big room for parties, this room has a balcony with the view of the building in front, and a big terrace with a view of the public square.
For last the main materials of the building are the glass, used mostly in the corner of it and the reinforced concreted, used in the structure which by the way it is bases on the traditional post and lintel structures. The minimum spam of the building is 2 meters, and the maximum is 8 meters, then the section of the columns has a area of 80 cm x 20 cm.
